William W. Geist, Jr., 86, of 8561 Stewart Road, Town of West Clarksville, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Absolut of Houghton following a short illness.
Born on March 21, 1923, Pittsburgh, Pa, he was a son of William W. and Mildred M. Conrad Geist. On October 25, 1947, in Osceola Mills, Pa he married the former Nettie S. Shultzaberger who survives.

Mr. Geist served with the United States Army as an airplane and engine mechanic from June 22, 1943 until February 23, 1946. While enlisted he received the Good Conduct Medal, EAME THR Service Medal, and Victory Medal.
He was employed as an Assembly line Foreman for Ford Motor Company in Buffalo retiring in 1981 after many years of service.
William was a former stock car driver for the Cuba Lake Raceway and other various dirt tracks in the area. He was a sports enthusiast that enjoyed all sports. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Mr. Geist was a former member and past president of the Rushford Central School Board, and former member of the Farmersville Station Fire Department. He is a lifetime member of the Robert W. Howden American Legion Post #1504, Cuba VFW Post # 2721, and the Voiture 40&8 Locale #1006. The Rev. Dr. Laurie Smalley, the outreach pastor of the Houghton Wesleyan Church, will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Kenneth (Anne) Geist of Angelica, and Ronald (Marcea) Geist of Midlothian, VA.;
two daughters, Virginia Wheeler of Rochester, and Johnna (John) Mye of West Clarksville; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson Michael Geist and a sister Doris Brown.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc, 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at which time memorial services will be held. The Rev. Dr. Laurie Smalley, outreach pastor of the Houghton Wesleyan Church, will officiate.
