Edward A. Pastor, Sr.
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather
Edward A. Pastor, Sr., 81, of 1 Maple Grove Estates, Friendship, and formerly of 8871 Stout Road, Cuba, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Bath surrounded by family after a lengthy illness.

Born on January 1, 1926, in Port vue, Pennsylvania, he was a son of Michael and Ella Chontos Pastor. On September 11, 1948 he married the former Betty Crandall who predeceased him on November 6, 1997. On October 2, 1999 in Cuba, New York he married the former Lucille Bruner who survives.

Mr. Pastor served in the United States Army from August 12, 1946 until December 24, 1947. He was always proud of his service.

After returning to the Cuba area he worked for a short period of time for the railroad. He then was employed by Acme Electric of Cuba as a welder for 36 years before retiring.

He enjoyed maintaining his lawn, bird watching, puzzles, and the waterfalls at Letchworth State Park, collecting unique stones, and Kinzua Damn. In previous years he enjoyed hunting.

He also enjoyed watching races and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as an avid New York Yankees Fan.

Mr. Pastor was a past member of the Cuba American Legion Post 655.

Surviving in addition to his second wife are three sons, Edward A. Pastor, Jr. of Ischua, James P. (Cindy) Pastor of Wisconsin, and Timothy (Debbie Blake) Pastor of Cuba; two daughters, Deborah (David) Freeman of Friendship, and Cynthia (Terry) Mostacato of Portville; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; a brother, William (Patricia) M. Pastor of Warren, MI; a sister, Eleanor Markette of Ogden, Utah; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the North Park Wesleyan Church, 13 N. Park, Cuba, New York 14727 on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 2-5 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Jonathan D. Ward, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be in the Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.

Memorial suggestions include Home Care and Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
