Dear Donna, Debbie, Phyllis and Pat:  Don and I were saddened to hear of Uncle Elmer's passing.  We feel fortunate to have seen and visited with him a while ago when he was with Uncle Lyle and Ann Marie.  But then I'll bet that was 10 yrs ago (before he went into nursing home) time passes by so fast.
I'll never forget your Dad commenting on how bright my teeth were.  I was a self-conscious adolescent then and it made me feel good.  I'm sure he is busy right now visiting with all his brothers and sisters, including my Dad, U Ernest.  Love and prayers to you and your family.

Grandpa we will miss you so very much.  You were a very interesting person to be around and I learned many things from you and about you throughout my childhood.  I remember a few years ago I brought my kids (Kristen, Kaleb & Kameron) to visit you, and you were still in the bed, you answered the door in your long johns and suspenders and when you saw the children you so "oops better put my teef in so i dont scare off the little ones"  I loved your quirky ways, relentless personality and incredible stories.  You have lived a long and I hope very fulfilling life but now it's time to go home and be with Grandma Lawton as I know she has missed you.  I will always remember you and even my children will be able to, especially since you offered my then 3 & 5 yr old sons a shot of wild turkey :).  I sure wish I could come say goodbye but I know that you understand and I also know I will carry you with me in my heart for the rest of my life.  Lots of Love Grandpa & We will miss you!
Love Always,
Erica, Kristen, Kaleb, and Kameron Green

Dear Donna and family,
I received your note today about the passing of your father.  Thank you for letting us know.   I know I have met him at the Lawton reunions when I attended with my Grandmother, Cora Dodd.  I also have the two books he wrote about his Mother and her family.  He must have been quite a character with a wonderful sense of humor  I enjoyed his books immensely, have read them several times recognizing many of my "shirt-tail" relatives.  I have passed them around the Dodd family.  You certainly must have many happy memories!  Please accept our sympathy.  Sincerely,
Billie (Dodd) Dobstaff and Jim
