Clifford Jay “CJ” Oakes
Beloved Son
Clifford J. "CJ" Oakes, 27 of Salisbury, NC and formerly of Franklinville NY was suddenly called home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 5, 2012.

Born on October 22, 1984, in Chandler, Arizona, he was the son of Robin J. White and the late Lanny J. Oakes.

Clifford and his family moved back to Franklinville, NY in 1990 and he attended Ten Broeck Academy and Franklinville Central Scholl graduating in 2002. He then went on to ITT Technical Institute for two years and graduated with an associate's degree in Electrical Technology.

C.J. our gentle giant loved life, being outdoors, and warmer weather. His family and friends will remember him as being so polite, gentle, and caring of others. He especially loved his mother. He liked football, baseball, and basketball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and swimming.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Robin (William "Bill") White of Black Creek; paternal grandmother, Margaret Oakes of Gilbert, Arizona; three step brothers, William R. (Jennifer) White of Black Creek, Robert (Alicia) White of Arcade, and Brian (Barb) White of Black Creek; a special aunt, Sue Diebold of Wyoming, NY; cousins, Tyler Horton, and Taylor Robb; Lori Oakes-Scott who was like his second mom; two nephews, Brayden and Camden, and a niece Marissa; and numerous aunts uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his father he was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Edward Oakes, maternal grandparents Ray and Alice Van Allen Williams, and an Uncle Edward C. Oakes, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from Noon until 3:00 P.M. at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. James Kazimer, pastor of the First Church of God, will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
