Sandra J. Lee, 71, formerly of Cuba and Rochester, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born September 2, 1952, in Rochester, she was a daughter of Floyd and Bertha Austin Dillenbeck, Sr. On March 16, 1979, in Rochester she married Robert A. Lee who survives.
Sandra (Sandi) was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester. She later graduated from Alfred State College with a Medical Lab Tech degree and later from SUNY Brockport with a degree in business administration.
She spent time early in life in Rochester, then moving to Cuba for several years, and eventually returned to live in Rochester until she became a resident of Absolut Care in Allegany where friends and care takers became family.
While living in the southern tier she drove bus for the Olean City School District and worked as a lathe operator at Dresser Rand in Wellsville. One of her last jobs was a Psychiatric Tech at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Sandi was feisty and happy and loved making new friends, listening to music, but most of all enjoyed spending time with loved ones.
In addition to her husband Robert of Absolut Care in Allegany, she is survived by her children, Tom (Donna) Hughes of Kennedy, Florida, Rachel (Daryl) Work of Siler City, North Carolina, Sandy (Ryan) Perry of Rochester, Tara (Chris Vazquez) Lee of Long Beach, California and Maria Lee of Rochester.
She loved her grandchildren more than life itself; Joey, Jennifer, Daisy, Dyllan, Kalie, Zachary, Cooper, Kairi, Brianna, Julie, Luisana, AJ, and Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Jimmy, Floyd Jr., Bob and Alice.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
