Richard L. "Dick" Collins, 89, of 7072 County Road 26, Belfast, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Wellsville Manor after a brief illness.
Born on Sept. 6, 1924, in Belfast, NY he was a son of Irving and Gertrude Comstock Collins. On December 30, 1943, in Belfast, he married the former Barbara J. Pielow who predeceased him on September 5, 1993.

Richard attended the Transit Bridge Country School and later attended Angelica Central School.
He owned and operated his own dairy farm, The Collins Family Farm in Belfast for many years before retiring.
He was a fifty plus year member of the Dairymen's League, a member of the Farm Bureau, Belfast Grange, and Rabbit Club.
Surviving are his three children, Roger D. (Kathy) Collins of Geneseo, Randolph "Randy" (Katie) Collins of Belfast, and Virginia "Ginger" (Phil) Edwards of Belfast;
eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his brothers Herald, Leslie, Lyle "Pete", and Earl; and a sister Gladys Benjamin.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 1:30 until 3:30 at which time funeral services will be held. Melissa Lamphier, a niece of Mr. Collins will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Belfast.
Memorials may be made to the Belfast Rescue Squad.
