Peggy A. Baker, 86, of Cuba, went to join her husband and best friend in heaven on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Born on February 5, 1940, in Mill Creek, West Virginia, she was a daughter of Hiel and Mamie (McCauley) Bartlett. On August 23, 1958, in the Ellicottville Methodist Church, she married Brian Baker who predeceased her on February 12, 1992.
She worked in the kitchen at ACME Electric Corp before raising her children. Later she worked as a bus monitor for handicapped children at Cuba-Rushford School from where she retired.
In retirement, Peg enjoyed family, friends, her grandchildren, card playing and traveling. She was a member of the Cuba First Baptist Church, the Women's golf league, and the bridge club.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Baker-Beaver; a son Andrew Baker; both of Olean; a granddaughter Brianna (Edward) Jackman; her grandsons Thomas and Kellen Baker and Hunter and Colton Beaver; a great grandson and twinkle of her eye Charles Jackman; three sisters Patty (Gerald) Burwell of Nettie, WV, Polly (Fred) Taylor of Rupert, WV, and Sandra (Lester) Taylor of Fenwick, WV; a brother Ed Bartlett of Richwood, WV; a brother in law Thomas Baker of New Jersey and a sister in law Donalee Price of California; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by five sisters Genevia, Catherine, Velma, Dinah, Gilda, two brothers Hiram and Walter, and a son-in-law Jeff Beaver.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at which time a Funeral Service will begin in the Funeral Home. Rev. Luke Granger will officiate.
Burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford, New York, next to her husband.
Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
