Michael F. Bunk, 72, 35 Spring Street, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at home after a brief illness.
Born on August 24, 1952, in Cuba, he was a son of William J. and Sara A. Simpson Bunk. On June 15, 1985, in Cuba, he married the former Marilyn Simmons who survives.
Mike was a graduate of Cuba Central School Class of 1972.
After high school he began working for Clarks Brothers, Dresser Rand, and finally Siemens retiring as the Distribution Clerk after 42 years of employment.
He was a member of the Cuba American Legion Post 655, AmVets Post 1 of Cuba, and the Cuba VFW Post 2721. Mike was an avid NASCAR fan, New Orleans Saints fan, loved to hunt, pitch horse shoes, and camp.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by two sons Douglas W. (Jennifer) Bunk of Maryland, Alex W. Bunk of Cuba, and Angel L. Bunk of Cuba; his grandchildren Logan, Jayda, Kensington, and William; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents a brother William J. Bunk II and two sisters Maxine Hadden and Shirley Chesnut.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held and announced when plans have been finalized.
