Marjorie A. Bly

Long-time Cuba resident, Marjorie A. Bly passed away in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 22, 2010, after suffering a stroke and fall.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Charles Lewis, her sisters Edna and Helen, and her beloved husband Dr. Loren P. Bly.

She is survived by her daughter Lynne and son-in-law John Harrington and their children Marcus and Erin Noel Harrington; and by her son Loren L. Bly and daughter-in-law Jane, their children Loren M. (Janet) Bly, Kenneth Bly (Margie), and Elizabeth (Dale) Sandberg, and great-grandchildren David, Matthew, Kathryn, Jaqlyn, Andrew, Nathan, Mackenzie, and Mitchell.

Marjorie was a 1936 graduate of Mansfield State College. She taught English at the former Cuba Central High School for many years. She was an active force in local community life, a strong supporter of the Cuba Library, a leader in the Current Topic Club, and a longtime member of Cuba United Methodist Church. She was a lady of great grace and a teacher whose love and passion touched all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cuba United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sonya "Sunny" Mauser, pastor, will officiate.
