Born on December 30, 1946, in Wellsville, she was a daughter of Donald and Nellie Hinkley Edwards. On June 17, 1967, in Our Lady of Angels Church, she married Carlisle S. Rix, Jr. who predeceased her on December 2, 2011.

Linda was a graduate of Belfast Central School.

She was a homemaker and house cleaner for many years, and occasionally subbed at the Cuba Rushford cafeteria. She also owned and operated their dairy farm with her husband.

Linda was a member of Our Lady of Angels Church in Cuba and the Allegheny Mountain Engine & Implement Association. She loved when her family would gather for holidays and special occasions when all would be together as well as spending time with her grandchildren; one of her greatest joys. Her favorite holiday was Easter when the Rix family would gather for a reunion and Easter Egg hunt for all the kids.

She is survived by 3 sons, Michael (Casey) Rix of Cuba, Mark (Melissa) Rix of Cuba and Jason Rix of Hinsdale; a daughter, Michelle (Ken) Braley of Olean; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 3 brothers, Philip (Virginia) Edwards of Belfast, James (Sandy) Edwards of Belmont and David (Linda) Edwards of Houghton; a sister-in-law, Barb Hover of Hinsdale; a secial friend and penpal of 60 years Linda Gilson of Missouri; a close cousin, Lois (Dick) Edwards of Allentown; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother Donald Edwards.

Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 1-3 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held. Deacon Frank Pasquale will officiate. A Celebration of Life Service will be held later this year at a date, time, and place to be announced.

Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
