Dorothy Romain, 93, of 5703 School St, Ischua, passed away Wednesday, January 21, at Olean General Hospital, after an extended illness.
Born on June 27, 1921, in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of Walter D. and Hazel Jeetter Hill.

On June 24, 1947, in Ohio, she married Michael Romain, who predeceased her. In her younger years, she had been a nursing home caregivers in Michigan. She then went on to work for the phone company, from which she retired. She was a Moose Club member for more than 60 years in Caro, MI. She enjoyed playing Bingo and slot machines at the casino.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Bedell, of Cypress, TX, a son Derek Romain, of Cass City, MI, her son-in-law and caregiver, Clifford E. Lowe of Ischua, a special friend Louan Woodruff, twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Carole and Marilyn, and two sons, James and Michael.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home and Memorial Service Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba, on Sunday, January 25th, from 12:00-2:00pm, for a time of sharing and remembrances.
