Donald R. Shelton, 61, of, Olean and formerly of Friendship, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Olean General Hospital, after 30-year battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Born on January 5, 1965, in Cuba, he was a son of Donald Shelton and Tina Schwab Yanke.
Donald was a lifelong resident of Allegany and Cattaraugus County and made many friends in the area that all loved him and will miss him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A special thanks to Jerry Palmer, his cousin, and Ian McNulty, his nephew, for helping him to remain independent throughout his life.
He is survived by his mother Tina Yanke of Inverness Florida, a son Anthony Shelton of Scranton, Pennsylvania; a stepson Josh Hadsell of Hornell; four grandchildren; three brothers Michael Shelton, Eric (Jennifer) Shelton of Kalkaska, Michigan, Andrew (Beth) Shelton of Tampa, Florida; two sisters Debora (John) McNulty of Inverness, Florida and Andrea (Paul) Yanke of Elwood, Pennsylvania; two uncles James Schwab and Richard Schwab; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his step father Daniel Yanke, uncle Jay Schwab, aunts Amy Palmer, Linda Barnett, and Diane Creech.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
Donald's cremation was entrusted to the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., Cuba.
