Born on August 22, 1945, in Cuba, he was a son of Nuel and Ethelyn (Dorrett) Pangburn. On June 28, 1965, in Washington, D.C. he married the former Emma J. Ross who survives.

Don attended Richburg Central School. He served in Untied States Marie Corps from November 7, 1963 until December 7, 1967 and received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal for his service.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a life member of the Richburg Volunteer Fire Department and Morrison Hayes American Legion Post 702 in Wellsville.

In addition to his wife, Emma, he is survived by his five grandchildren Kristina, Tosha, Christopher, Brittany, and Cody; 6 great grandchildren Anthony, Korryn, Gabriella, Robert, Kolby, and Abiageal; two daughters in law Tammy Pangburn and Connie Pangburn both of Wirt; a brother Kenneth Pangburn of Wirt; a sister Betty (Clifford) Greene of Wirt; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons Jefferey Pangburn on May 5, 2010 and Dennis Pangburn on March 9, 2023, a brother Ted (Jane) Pangburn, a sister-in-law Pam Pangburn, a niece Nicole Pangburn, a step brother Floyd Williams, Sr., a step sister Janice Kennedy, and step niece Sherri Kennedy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Richburg Firemen’s Clubhouse, Griffin Street, Richburg from 1 to 5 P.M.
