Donald D. Benjamin, 88, of 9126 Jackson Hill Rd, Cuba, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on October 23, 1924, in Franklinville, New York, he was a son of Ellsworth and Nellie Frank Benjamin. On March 3, 1980, in Cuba, New York, he married the former Sylvia J. Graham who survives.

Mr. Benjamin served in the United States Navy from June 2, 1943 until September 22, 1949. During World War II he served in Plymouth England.
He was an employee of Acme Electric Corp. of Cuba for 30 years. He held various positions within the company but retired as inside salesman.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all the outdoors had to offer.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Donna J. (Jerry) Burdick of Cuba; a son, James R. Benjamin of New Cumberland, PA;
a stepdaughter, Cheryl (William) Rose of North Palm Beach, FL; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Leonard Benjamin, and two sisters Beatrice Woodruff and Velma Woolhizer.
The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Leslie E. Chambers, pastor of the West Clarksville Baptist Church, will officiate.
