Dolores A. “De” Donner
Loving Mother, Grandmother, great Grandmother
Dolores A. Donner, 80, of 2 Woodruff Street, Cuba passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 24, 1936, in Buffalo, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Marion Hepfner Johns. On July 2, 1955 at the First Baptist Church of North Tonawanda she married Lawrence C. Donner who predeceased her on April 29, 1999.

While living in Rochester from 1958-1975, Mr. and Mrs. Donner were foster parents for Monroe County, hosting children from NYC for 12 years for the Fresh Air Program. They moved to Allegany County to supervise "Camp Faith" on New Hudson Rd and did so through 1984. Mrs. Donner was organist for the Bellville Wesleyan Church until moving to Cuba in 2007.

She attended and was active at Cuba First Baptist Church, Secretary for the Bellville Cemetery Association, and volunteered as a cook at Wellspring Ministries, volunteered for the Allegany County Office of the Aging and faithfully visited Mrs. Fances Hunt. She also worked as a volunteer on mission trips to Kentucky serving the homeless of the area.

De was employed by Cuba Rushford Central School from 1977 (at that time Rushford Central) until her retirement in August 2009. She served as District Treasurer from 1993 until her retirement.

She enjoyed family, visiting friends, and playing her accordion both at church and local nursing homes.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis (Kim) Donner of Glenwood, Douglas (Sue) Donner of Cuba, and Daniel (Laurie) Donner of Allegany; a daughter, Gretchen (Fran) Pietrzykowski of East Bethany; her grandchildren Krystin and Kara Donner, Shameka, Clint, Chanelle Davis, Shauntae Donner, Ashleigh, Alexa, and Zachary Donner, Emily and Sean Pietrzykowski; a great grandson, Julian Davis; an extended family grandchildren, Katie and Sarah Messick; a brother, Edwin (Sandra) Johns of Dalton, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Cuba, 17 South Street, Cuba at 11:00 A.M.

Burial in Bellville Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
