Dean L. Davis
Husband, Father, and Grandfather

Dean L. Davis, 86, of Bolivar, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Jones Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born on December 4, 1939, in Weston Mills, he was a son of Leroy E. and Mary Agnes (Clark) Davis. On July 16, 1983, in Bolivar, he married the former Yvonne J. "Bonnie" Prame who survives.

Dean was a graduate of Bolivar Central School. He began working at the young age of 15 in his father's body shop-a business he would later take over and operate as Davis Paint and Body in Bolivar. In his community, Dean drove school bus for 44 years and shared his expertise with the next generation by teaching auto body classes at Alfred State's Wellsville Campus.

Dean loved golfing, fishing, camping, and gardening, as well as playing horseshoes and participating in local pool leagues. He enjoyed traveling and, in his retirement, enjoyed summers at Chautauqua Lake and winters in Starke, Florida, for twenty years. Above all, Dean was a devoted husband and father, and was virtually inseparable from his beloved wife, with whom he shared life's happiest moments.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Laurie Corra of Sanborn, New York, Chris Davis of Labelle, Florida Lynn Robinson of Little Genesee, Shawn (Heather) Davis of Keystone Heights, Florida, Tim (Susan) Witter of Warren, Pennsylvania, LaRae (Ralph) Best of Olean, and Codie (Roger) Strawcutter of Allegany; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters Phyllis Osgood and Lois Cline and son-in-law Dave Corra.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 554 South Main Street, Bolivar, on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 6-8 P.M. and again on Friday, October 30 from 9-11:00 A.M. with a funeral service beginning at 11. Tom Porter, a friend of the family will officiate.

Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar, New York.
