Daniel Arnold Andrus, 79, of 8471 Spring Valley Rd, Black Creek, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 in Cuba Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness.
Born on July 10, 1930, in Cuba, New York he was a son of Clayton B. and Marjorie Arnold Andrus. On July 20, 1951, in Friendship, NY he married the former Imogene Martin Andrus who predeceased him. On September 10, 1994 he married the former Norma L. Vogel who survives.

Mr. Andrus served in the United States Army from March 12, 1951 until February 18, 1953. He was always proud to have served his country.
Daniel worked as a fork truck operator for Dresser Rand of Olean prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church and Cuba American Legion Post 655. Mr. Andrus spent time doing senior activities at Highland Daycare Services.
Mr. Andrus loved shopping at Dollar General and in his younger years enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses and animal cut outs, odd jobs for those in need, photography, as well as traveling to various states. He especially enjoyed young children and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife Norma are three sons, Daniel (Laurie) Andrus of Hornell, Glenn (Carole) Andrus of Cuba,
and Joe (Lisa) Andrus of Cuba; a daughter, Linda (Kirk) Sevray of Bradford; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren;
one step son, Timothy (Donna) Vogel of Friendship; three step daughters glenda (Jim) Stocking of Belmont, Brenda (Paul) Prentice of Rushford, and Carleen (Robert) Murphy of Black Creek;
11 step grandsons, 13 step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his first wife he was predeceased a son Brian Andrus who died at birth, a brother Thurston Andrus in 1980, a sister Carol Andrus in 1999, a step grandchild Jessica Murphy who died at birth, and a step great grandson Collin Vogel.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9, where funeral services will be held on Wed. June 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Ronald Reichman, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be on Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship.
