Amazing Husband, Father and Friend
Dale Patrick McGinnis, 59, of 20 Maple Street, Cuba, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 unexpectedly shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital.

Born on January 10, 1956, in Potsdam, NY he was a son of John W. and Ester Luetta McGinnis. On July 19, 1980 at Our Lady of Angels Church he married the former Clara M. Green who survives.

Dale was a 1975 graduate of Holy Family High in Massena, New York and later graduated with an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Canton Agricultural and Technical College.

For a short period of time he worked as a vegetable inspector for New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and in 1978 began working for Cuba Cheese now Great Lakes Cheese in the lab where he was currently employed.

He was a member of Cuba Grange 799, and the Allegany County Pamona Grange. As an avid bowler he bowled in the Monday Mens, Wednesday Mens, Five Mans, Sunday Night and No tab Summer Leagues. He enjoyed watching sports especially the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and St. Bonaventure Teams and camping. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was affectionately named 'Dad' by many of his children's friends and will be remembered for his smile that could light up any room.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 34 years are a son, Christopher D. McGinnis of Cuba; a daughter, Alicia M. McGinnis of Cuba; four brothers, Michael (Kathleen Lull) McGinnis of Weedsport; Thomas (Penelope) McGinnis of NYC, David (Kenneth Lamore) McGinnis of St. Pete, Florida, and Mark McGinnis of San Diego, California; a sister, Kathleen (James) Ayers of Cuba; a special daughter, Haley Walt of Cuba; his father and mother-in-law, Albert (Anna) Green of Cuba; numerous brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 6-9 P.M. and on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from Noon until 2:00 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma will officiate.

Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery, Town of New Hudson, New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dale's name may be made to Cuba Rushford Central School, 5476 Rte 305 North, Cuba, New York 14727 where a scholarship is being setup in his name to honor a male and female basketball player each year.
