Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather
Charles L. “Charlie” Greek, 77, of 9738 Keller Hill Rd., Cuba, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Olean General Hospital with family by his side, after a lengthy illness.

Born on January 23, 1945, in Wellsville, he was a son of Fred B. and Kathleen J. Adams Greek. He had been married to the former Mary R. Hamer and later on May 14, 1977, in Cuba, he married the former Sandra E. Santangelo who survives.

Charlie attended Cuba Central School and then enlisted in the United States Army serving from 1962-64.

After his military service, he returned to the area and worked for Farnsworth Cookie Factory, was a bar tender at the Bradley House, worked construction for A.L. Blades, Genesee Brewing Company, and for the VanDerHorst’s in Olean until they closed. He then went to work as a Maintenance Supervisor for all of the Erin Isle’s Apartment Complex’s in the area retiring in 2010.

He was Past Commander and Lifetime member of the Cuba American Legion Post 655, Charter member and Past Commander of the Shawn M. Clemens Memorial AmVets Post 1 of Cuba, and a social member of the Cuba VFW Post 2721.

In addition to his wife Sandy, he is survived by his children, Matthew (Buffy) Greek of Belfast, Ronald Stillman of Portville, Leon (Robyn McKelvey) Greek of Black Creek, Monica (George) Harrington of Limestone and Tammy (Tony) Schafer of Portville; his grandchildren, Charles, Kennith, Christopher, Shawana, Mikayla, Alexx, Michael, Ryan, Joshua, Jeremy, Justin, Cheyenne, Sharyssa, Dakota, Noah, Cassandra, Nathaniel, Kathleen, and Kristina; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Fred H. Greek and James Greek whom died in infancy, and a sister Mabel Emch.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery, Town of New Hudson, New York.
