Charles E. "Zip" Conklin Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother

Charles E. "Zip" Conklin, 54, of 8167 Spring Valley Road, Town of New Hudson, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on, July 5, 1957, in Cuba, New York, he was a son of Charles H. Conklin. On July 8, 1995, in the First Baptist Church of Cuba, he married the former Louella M. Mountz who survives.

Zip was a graduate of the former Cuba Central School Class of 1977.
He had worked for Genesee Beer Distributing of Cuba, and later became a used car salesman known for his integrity. He began selling cars for Cuba Auto Sales and later went to work for Preston Auto and Truck Center in Wellsville. His greatest accomplishment and source of pride was becoming owner of Zip's Auto Place retiring in 2011 due to illness. He also drove School bus for Cuba Rushford School.
Zip was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba and a former member of the Cuba Fire Dept. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was especially grateful to Barb Deming and Joyce Becker for their love, support and guidance in his life.
Surviving in addition to his wife Louella of Black Creek are his children, Heidi (BJ) Howe of Cuba, Ryan (Courtney) Grant of Whidbey Bay, Washington,
Jonathan (Brenda) Barnett of Lancaster, SC, Anne Barber of Olean, and Amanda Randall of Friendship;
his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Tia, Braelyn, Savannah, and Aryeana; two sisters, Rose (William) Thomas of Angelica, and Cathy (Denus) Dorsey of Angelica;
special friends, Gary and Carol Shaffer of Cuba; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Lola.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 4-8 P.M. The family will also receive friends at the First Baptist Church on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 1-2:00 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma, pastor will officiate.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
Memorial's if desired may be made to the Cuba Fire Department, the New Hudson Fire Department, or to the Allegany County Cancer Services.
