Hello, I am Mark F. Rinker, son of Janet and the late Richard J. Rinker. Having been a lifelong resident of Cuba I was a 1998 graduate of Cuba-Rushford Central School. After high school, I attended Jamestown Community College and received an associate's degree in mathematics and science.

As many of you know I have worked a lot of different jobs in the Cuba area, where I learned exceptional working skills and that through hard work and perseverance many things are possible. Having learned the public side of Funeral Service from Rex A. McIntosh, I decided to enroll in the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service and in August of 2004 graduated MU Sigma Alpha with a 3.91 GPA.

Returning to Cuba in August of 2004, I was hired by Mr. McIntosh to complete my yearlong residency where my education continued under his direct supervision. After completing the residency, I was able to sit for the NYS Funeral Directors Law examine, which enabled me to become a fully licensed funeral director.

In January of 2008, after a forty-four year career, Mr. McIntosh decided to retire and I decided this was the best time to advance my career and open my own funeral home. After many hours of careful planning and with the help of close friends, I was able to design a layout for the new funeral home.

After contracting the exterior of the building, many of my close friends and family helped me complete the entire inside, and to those friends I am indebted. This entire process was truly a community effort and the word thank you doesn't seem enough. The best part was that I was involved in every aspect of the project, learning first hand what it feels like to have your dream come true.

In November of 2008 the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc, became fully licensed by the state of New York to operate as a funeral home.

As I look to the future, I look forward to being able to serve the community in which I live, and I promise to serve the community with the same respect it has shown me throughout my entire life.
